FixMySpeaking

This Privacy Policy explains how FixMySpeaking ("FixMySpeaking", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use our app and website (the "Service"). FixMySpeaking is a speaking-assessment tool: you record short speaking samples and we analyse them to score your speaking and recommend exercises.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password, or an identifier from Apple or Google if you sign in with them.
• Speaking samples: the audio you record when you take a test. This is processed in real time to produce your analysis (see "How recordings are handled" below).
• Results data: the scores, metrics, summaries and tips generated from your samples, so you can track your progress.
• Basic usage data: limited technical information needed to operate and secure the Service, such as app version and error diagnostics.

How recordings are handled

Your audio recordings are sent to our processing providers, transcribed and scored, and then discarded — we do not retain the raw audio or the full transcript on our servers after your analysis is generated. Only the resulting scores, metrics and short written feedback are saved to your account so your history and progress work.

How we use your information

• To transcribe and analyse your speaking and generate your scores and exercises.
• To save your results so you can track progress over time.
• To create and secure your account.
• To operate, maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Service.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf, only to deliver the Service:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, edge compute, data storage, and speech-to-text transcription.
• Anthropic — AI analysis used to score speaking and write feedback.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your recordings to train our own models.

Data retention

Recordings are not retained after processing. Your account details and results are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, and you can delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at hello@fixmyspeaking.com.

Security

Passwords are stored only in hashed form, data is encrypted in transit, and access to systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

International processing

Our providers operate global infrastructure, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
